About the House

A country house built for gathering

Green Loanings is a beautiful, detached country house in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with amazing views and mature gardens on the border of Kent and Sussex. It sits on five private acres near Tunbridge Wells and Ashdown Forest.

At its heart is a stunning year-round heated indoor swimming pool and spa that opens onto the gardens. With generous living and dining spaces, a cinema room and plenty of bedrooms, the house is ideally suited to families and large group gatherings — from milestone birthdays to relaxed weekends away.

Eridge station offers trains to London in under an hour, and Brighton is around 40 minutes away by car or bus.

With 8 bedrooms, 12 beds and 5 bathrooms, the house sleeps 14 guests comfortably as standard and up to 22 by arrangement — ideal for several families or a large group together.

Bedrooms range from generous doubles with countryside views to twin and bunk rooms that children love, spread across the house for privacy. Between them are five bathrooms and en-suites, a galleried landing and light-filled living spaces.

Getting Here

Easy to reach, hard to leave

By train

Eridge station is close by, with trains to London in under an hour — a great option for guests coming from the city.

By car

Around 40 minutes to Brighton and the coast, and within easy reach of Tunbridge Wells, Ashdown Forest and the A26. Ample off-road parking at the house.

Finding us

Google Maps has the correct location. After you turn off the A26, turn left — we’re the only house, through the black gates at the end of the lane.

House notes & a few gentle rules

It’s a relaxed, family-friendly house — these simply help us keep it lovely for everyone.

Around the pool

  • No food or glass near the pool
  • Pool doors closed at night
  • Please keep the pool covered when not in use
  • Children supervised at all times

The house & grounds

  • Well-behaved pets welcome — please clear up after them
  • Please leave the house as you found it
  • No parking on the grass
  • Up to 4 daytime visitors beyond your party, by arrangement
  • Check-out is 11am

Please note

  • No fireworks or Chinese lanterns (neighbouring horses)
  • No smoking indoors or in the pool house
  • No candles or open fires (LED candles provided)
  • Outdoor fires in the firepit only
  • CCTV covers the front drive
